Representative Veronica Gonzales (HD 41) has been appointed by Texas House Speaker Joe Straus to the National Conference of State Legislators' Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness Taskforce.
"This leadership position will provide Gonzales valuable insight into the security and preparedness practices used around the country to implement the best ideas in Texas," reports the City of McAllen in their coverage of the story, found

The Texas League of Conservation voters has released it's annual scorecard, giving Annie's List Endorsed Candidate Representative Carol Kent a "A" grade and supporting her reelection bid with a full endorsement.
