Annie’s List Profile:
Annie’s List works to recruit, train, support and elect viable progressive Democratic women candidates who are dedicated to protecting the health, safety and financial security of Texas women and their families. By electing more progressive Democratic women and changing the face of power in Texas politics, Annie’s List aims to advance a progressive agenda that includes:
• Protecting reproductive rights for women of all backgrounds and economic means
• Preventing violence against women and children and assisting those who do become victims
• Fully funding public schools including: accurate, comprehensive curriculum and textbooks, updated facilities and fair pay for teachers
• Promoting healthy Texas families by making healthcare affordable and accessible for all regardless of gender, age, ethnicity or income level
• Protecting the quality of our air, water and natural resources for future generations
• Advancing economic opportunities for women by advocating for equitable wages and work conditions, as well as assisting with child care costs and job training
Since 2003, we have helped elect 16 women to office including one to the Texas State Senate, 14 to the Texas House of Representatives, and the current Mayor of Houston, Annise Parker. We currently have endorsed candidates across Texas, including Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio, Austin, and El Paso.
Intern Responsibilities:
Annie’s List interns will:
• Assist with office management functions
• Support fundraising and/or political events
• Research and prepare background material on prospective donors
• Provide research and assistance to Finance, Political and Communications Departments as needed
• Provide backup assistance to Annie's List endorsed campaigns as needed
• Assist in maintenance of email and donor database
Qualifications:
Annie’s List is seeking interns who have a demonstrated commitment to progressive ideals and the Democratic Party, as well as a strong interest in the promotion of women in politics. The ideal candidates should be experienced with computers, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and be a detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to work on several tasks concurrently.

Dates needed: Schedule flexible, we ask that you commit to a minimum of 15 hours per week
