Annie’s List Won in Texas

There is cause to celebrate in our own backyard. We elected new women leaders right here in Texas, who we can count on to champion our values in these uncertain times. In this general election Annie’s List endorsed 27 pro-choice, progressive women up and down the ballot, across the state.

25 of these 27 women won their races outright – and Anne Sung won her runoff race by 27 votes!

Texans re-elected every Annie’s List incumbent who will continue to champion our values.

Texans added four new Annie’s List champions to the Texas House: Barbara Gervin-Hawkins, Victoria NeaveMary Ann Perez and Shawn Thierry.

We all fought so hard that the 27th Annie’s List-endorsed candidate, Terry Meza for the Texas House, came within 64 votes shy of a victory with 49.9% of the vote.

With the election of Ann Harris Bennett, we now have a progressive woman safeguarding the largest voting population in the State.
