Toni Rose is the representative of Texas’ House District 110, first elected in 2013. The district includes parts of southern Dallas, Balch Springs and Mesquite Texas’ diverse and predominantly minority communities.

She is serving as vice chair of the Human Services Committee. She also sits on the Rules & Resolutions and the Juvenile Justice & Family Issues committees.

Rose previously served on the serve on the Human Services Committee and the Corrections Committee. Last session Rose passed legislation on emergency preparedness and readiness management.

She worked as a mental health professional and was employed with Parkland Health & Hospital System prior to her election to the Texas Legislature.

Her legislative focus includes stronger public educational systems, affordable and accessible health care options, better jobs and increased employment opportunities for residents in Dallas County underserved, at-risk communities.

Rose previously served on numerous City of Dallas Boards and Commissions: Planning & Zoning Commission, the Judicial Nominating Commission and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center Board. Additionally, Representative Rose held leadership roles in the NAACP Dallas Branch, League of Women Voters of Dallas, Paul Quinn National Alumni Association, Texas Coalition of Black Democrats, United Negro College Fund (UNCF) and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. In addition, Representative Rose currently serves on the Dallas County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC), the Dallas Development Board for Texas Can Academies, and as an ex-officio member of the North Central Texas County of Government Executive Board.

Representative Rose is a member of The Potter’s House of Dallas, Inc. and serves as Team Captain in the Guest Services Ministry.

She grew up in Oak Cliff section of the City of Dallas. She attended South Oak Cliff High School, Toni continued her education at Praire View A & M University and later transferred to Paul Quinn College and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice.
