Sheryl became the first African American woman elected to the Austin City Council in 2006 and was mayor pro tem for four of the nine years she served on the council. Sheryl is once again stepping up to serve and will represent House District 46 with integrity and persistence.

When elected to the legislature, Sheryl will:

  • Continue advocating for affordable housing, education reform, police accountability, marriage equality and the environment
  • Push back on the attacks on a woman’s right to make her own healthcare decisions
