The Annie's List Blog
My First Day as Annie’s List’s ED
July 3, 2018
Hello to the Annie’s List community!
At the end of my first day as Executive Director of Annie’s List, I am grateful to take a moment to reflect on what this organization means to me, and to the future of Texas.
In today’s uncertain political environment, Annie’s List is doing the necessary work of investing in a better future for Texas and Texans. It is up to us to drive progressive change and improve conditions for our communities by fundamentally shifting power in Texas. We will know we have succeeded when we have built a fairer, more prosperous, more compassionate Texas for everyone.
Each of us has a role to play and, together, there is no end to what we can achieve. The candidates and elected officials we support are the faces of our movement, but each of us needs to do our part as well – as voters, as supporters, and as advocates – to build the Texas we hope to see.
As a 6th generation Texan, the fate of our great state is deeply personal for me. I am excited to be a part of an organization on the front lines of building a better Texas for future generations; one that recognizes that our diversity as a community is our strength, and that consistently reflects the voices and ideas that makes us great.
When that day comes, we can be proud in knowing that Texas is one that we all had a hand in creating. And it all starts now, together. Thank you for lending your voices, your support, and for pulling up a seat at the table as we work towards a better Texas.
