(AUSTIN, TX)- Annie’s List, the statewide political organization that works to elect pro-choice, Democratic women to office in Texas, is proud to announce the endorsement of Brandy Chambers for Texas House District 112.

Brandy is running to unseat a Republican incumbent in House District 112 (Richardson/Garland).  An attorney and experienced mediator for 20 years, she has spent her career fighting for the rights of others. As an advocate for employee rights, Brandy is trained to listen to and understand multiple perspectives, reduce the noise and achieve a mutually agreeable solution based on substantive issues.

Brandy is a passionate activist who has been championing equality since she was eight years old, when she marched and phone banked for the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment with her mother. Now, Brandy is running for office to bring community, compassion and inclusivity to lawmaking in Texas.

As State Representative, Brandy will work to improve women’s health and reproductive rights under state law, including: access to quality healthcare, reducing the maternal and infant mortality rate, and providing regular cancer screenings, regardless of income.

“In her career as an attorney and community advocate, Brandy has dedicated herself to improving the lives of the people she represents. Once elected, Brandy will leverage that passion and experience for her constituents in House District 112,” said Monica Gomez, Annie’s List Political Director.

“We are excited to support so many first-time candidates, like Brandy, who are eager to create the change Texas needs,” said Royce Brooks, Annie’s List Executive Director. “With her initiative, skills and desire to create legislation reflective of our shared values, Brandy, along with our full slate of endorsed candidates, will positively impact the future of policy making in Texas.”

Annie’s List is supporting our endorsed candidates through a combination of expert training, political advice and financial contributions. The endorsement of Chambers marks 34 Annie’s List-endorsed candidates that will appear on the ballot this November, a record high for our organization.

Annie’s List works to achieve equity for women by changing the face of leadership in Texas. We recruit, train, support and elect progressive, pro-choice women who are dedicated to advancing the self-determination, health, safety and financial security of Texas women and their families. Since our founding in 2003, Annie’s List has trained thousands of women to run for office and won more than 100 races up and down the ballot and across the state.

Annie’s List is excited to support 52 exceptional incumbents and candidates throughout Texas. We are also proud to have trained and/or supported two-thirds of eighty Democratic women running in 2018 for the Texas state legislature.
