Annie U

Do you have a burning desire to make Texas a better place to live and work?  Are you a political junkie with a passion for issues that government can help solve? Do you cringe when things get mansplained? If so, you could be a great addition to Annie U’s next class of interns.

Annie’s List is no longer accepting applications for Summer 2018 internships. Please check back in July for Fall 2018 internship applications.

Annie’s List offers paid learning opportunities* for young leaders enrolled in college through our Annie U internship program. Each semester we interview and hire college students who are interested in the political process and creating better government to support our team. Annie U graduates have gone on to attend Annie’s List Campaign School, work on campaigns of our endorsed candidates around the state, join the Annie’s List staff, and hold key positions in the Texas Capitol. We require that interns work at least 10 hours per week.

We have four great options for plugging in and learning to match areas of college study and interests: political, communications, development and programs.

Communication Department:  learn how a political organization builds a following and its brand, provides marketing support to fundraising and events.

  • Assist in tracking press relevant to Annie’s List candidates and issues
  • Media monitoring for mentions of Annie’s List media mentions and social media listening
  • Draft copy for social media content, emails, press releases and website
  • Help with tasks for other departments as needed

Program Department: learn what it takes to recruit and train candidates for future office.

  • Help identify strategic training locations and local partners
  • Assist in recruiting attendees for candidate trainings

Development (fundraising): learn how to generate funds for a political organization and campaigns.

  • Update and maintain an accurate database and spreadsheets

  • Help with tasks for other departments as needed
